Everything you want to know
before the first conversation
A no-obligation phone call to discuss your project and discover where you are in the homebuilding process and how we can best advise you to move forward. We discuss what you already have or are still looking for, see if you project and schedule are achievable, and set up an in-person meeting to discuss your build in more detail. If you have existing land or are considering leasing a space, we will walk the property with you and make recommendations and determine next steps.
Of course! We will work with you and the land that you already own to achieve the style of build you want and see what is possible within the land parameters. We will advise you if something is not possible and come up with creative solutions to work with your budget and desires.
Yes. While compound construction does not have architects on-staff, we have close relationships with specific architects and designers that can meet your needs and provide a professional, specialized focus on the unique properties of your project. We are also open to working with your architect or designer if you have already begun the process with them. We love meeting new professionals in the industry!
We build across the West Michigan area, and are happy to travel north to Traverse City or south to Benton Harbor. We go as far west as Lansing, too. Have a questions about if we could build in your area? Drop us a line!
When it comes to building a home, there are many factors that affect the all-in cost to build. To name a few; square footage, level of finishes selected, location, land factors, and specialty features. Rest assured, our goal is to provide insight and advice throughout the process and help align the costs with your optimal budget as well as ensure you can move forward knowing you won't overspend or be stuck with features you dislike. By the end of our Preconstruction Process, we deliver to you a Guaranteed Max Price to build your home, so you know exactly what it will cost before breaking ground.
Our Guaranteed Max Price is the number that represents the full cost to build your home. We present this to you before signing a contract and starting your build, so that you know exactly what it will cost before committing. We don't issue change order after change order for cost adjustments throughout the project because price out every dollar beforehand with our trusted trade partners and suppliers. The only change orders you would receive would be for any changes in scope or design that you decide upon during the project.
The only way for any build to go smoothly is with proper preparation on the front end. Our Preconstruction Agreement is our document that details the extensive work we do before we start digging. This includes architect fees, design, project management, and bidding time to ensure that your project will fit your needs and budget before construction even begins. The deliverables you will receive are your designs, selections, and our Guaranteed Max Price to build. If, for whatever reason, you decide that we are not a good fit to build with you, none of the work you've done is lost. You have all the information in your hands at the end of the Preconstruction Phase.
